This course, organized by members of the ERN GENTURIS, aims at delivering up-to-date knowledge on hereditary cancers to clinical and molecular geneticists in training or certified.
It creates the best opportunity for interaction and discussion with experts from all over Europe, in the fabulous environment of Bertinoro, the headquarters of the ESHG sponsored courses.
The faculty combines experts from many fields of cancer genetics known for their didactic skills. Participants are encouraged to present a clinical or genetic case in a Poster format for on-site discussion.
Prizes will be awarded for best presentations.

Venue: The University Residential Center of Bertinoro

Accommodation: You’ll be staying in a double room (to be shared with another participant) at the Course Venue (or hotels nearby the course venue if necessary).

Fees: The Registration fee (€700,00) includes accommodation in double room for 3 nights (*from September 20 to 23*, 2022) tuition, course material, all meals, coffee breaks, and transportation from Bologna airport to the course venue in the late morning of September 20th (approx. 10.30 am) and back in the afternoon of September 23 at the end of the course (approx. 2.30pm – estimated arrival time to Bologna approx. 4.00 pm).

Fellowships: Two types of fellowships are available for this course: ESHG fellowships and ERN GENTURIS Exchange Programme fellowship.

ESHG fellowships: The European Society of Human Genetics offers fellowships covering both registration fee and accommodation. Applicants for fellowships should fill in the ESHG fellowship application Excel-file and submit it together with a copy of their CV, a reference letter, and a motivation letter to rpartisani@ceub.it

ERN GENTURIS Exchange Programme fellowship: Health professionals working in an ERN centre1 in the eligible EU countries2 can apply for an ERN GENTURIS Exchange Programme fellowship to cover costs for accommodation and travel. The Exchange Programme is meant to meet goals and strengthen capacity on the Network level by sharing expertise, experiences and highly specialised knowledge under the scope and frame of the 24 European Reference Networks.

In addition to participation in the 4th Course in Hereditary Cancer Genetics, recipients of the fellowship should participate in a visit to the AOU di Bologna – University Hospital Authority St. Orsola-Malpighi Polyclinic of Prof. Daniela Turchetti) on Friday 23 September in the afternoon.

The reimbursement of the fellowship (handled by an organization under the direction of the EU commission) includes:

  • per diems for subsistence costs (200 euro per night spent). Per diems should be used to cover the cost of accommodation, travel insurance, food and local transport.
  • travel costs. Travel costs can be reimbursed up to € 300 at maximum for travel by air (by submitting proof of purchase) or car (on the basis of € 0.22/km, calculated on the basis of the distance between the home institution and the AOU di Bologna, with a maximum reimbursement of € 300). For travel by train, travel costs can be reimbursed up to € 200 at maximum.

Poster submission:
All participants are encouraged to present a poster. All abstracts will be accepted. The usable surface on the poster board will be 90 cm width x 150 cm height (approx. 35 x 59 inches).
Deadline for sending Abstracts for posters: August 31st, 2022.
Each abstract should consist in principle of 1-2 typewritten pages including references (font: times new roman 11 with line-spacing 1,5). Please send your abstract to rpartisani@ceub.it
